The Cosmetology course is 1600 hours in length, which is approximately 10 months on a full-time basis. We also offer part-time classes. Topics included in the study of Cosmetology are: Haircutting, Glamour Photography Makeovers, Salon Management, Hairstyling, Hair Sculpturing, Hair Coloring, Highlights, Advanced Braiding, Weaves, Hair Extensions and many more.

We also offer our Cosmetology II program which is designed to allow cosmetology students to specialize and receive more intensive training in the esthetician field in the same 1600 hour program.

CAREER SPECIALIZATION

Our school recognizes that students sometimes have a real interest in some specialized area of cosmetology. To meet this desire for specialized training, we have designed numerous advanced courses that allow our students to gain additional training in such areas as Aesthetics (skin care, advanced European facial techniques, international body spa therapy, full body treatments, makeup technologies), and Nail Technology (sculptured nails, gel nails, silk wraps, hair coloring, precision perming, etc.)

Our school has always had an extensive and diverse clientele. This allows our students to gain practical experience in all areas and facets of cosmetology including precision haircutting, haircoloring, styling, make-up, skin care, sculptured nails, perming, and many more.

Your practical experiences on the clinic floor will give you the opportunity to polish and perfect your cosmetology skills and techniques. By graduation, you'll know first hand what the job feels like. You'll have a wealth of knowledge about the beauty industry and actual customer experience too.

VIDEO EDUCATION

Maricopa Beauty College has a complete video education program that allows our students to learn basic and advanced subjects. Video tapes, CDs, and DVDs, purchased from outside sources, make up our growing film library. These tapes are utilized during our basic educational program and our career specialization advanced training seminars.

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

The school utilizes computer technology in all aspects of the educational program. During classes and educational seminars, computerized presentations using PowerPoint slide shows make it easier and more interesting to learn. Students who need state board preparation or subject review assistance may use our computerized tutoring center, which helps them master any subject more effectively. We can also use the hair color computer to analyze and determine the perfect color formula for every hair type.

ADVANCED EDUCATION

Our advanced educational programs include the latest trend releases from leading educators and stylists from throughout the United States and the World. We also have guest speakers regularly come in and give seminars and demonstrations on industry-related topics such as make-up, professionalism, color techniques and new products as well as an array of other topics.

INTEGRATED LEARNING

Maricopa Beauty College utilizes in its educational program the Standard System of Salon Skills, which is a progressive learning system that integrates student course books with corresponding video material. This allows students to learn at a faster rate by utilizing different learning styles. The system includes a Clinic Success Journal and a Student Course Book with step-by-step techniques for women's haircutting, hairstyling, texture services, haircoloring, highlighting, and men's haircutting.
